When our client came to us, this bedroom felt like a leftover college space—plain, forgettable, and completely disconnected from the rest of their home. They wanted something more grown-up, expressive, and visually expansive… even within a small footprint. Challenge accepted!
We transformed this overlooked room into a bold, personality-packed retreat that now stops guests in their tracks—centered around a once-hidden vintage poster that finally takes the spotlight it deserves.
The design began with that vintage poster, which became the heart of the space. From there, we built a story full of color, movement, and personality—turning a forgotten room into something intentional and deeply personal.
To visually expand the room, we leaned into height and movement. A large-scale mural draws the eye upward, while a tall, dramatic headboard enhances the sense of verticality. We even transformed a rug into a custom framed headboard art piece—adding texture, personality, and acoustic softness while staying budget-friendly.
Moody green walls bring depth and sophistication, layered with rich textures, vintage elements, and plant life for a lived-in, elevated feel. Hanging planters and added shelving soften the space while maximizing storage and drawing the eye upward.
We improved the layout by swapping a bulky dresser for a low-profile piece, instantly opening up the room. Battery-powered sconces with green glass shades add warmth and function—no hardwiring needed—while durable, pet-friendly materials ensure the space works just as beautifully as it looks.
The result? A space that feels intentional, expressive, and completely them. This bedroom proves that even the smallest, most forgotten rooms can become standout spaces with the right mix of creativity, strategy, and bold design choices.
