From Cookie Cutter to Like No Other Journey
Take the guess work out of interior design process and work with the professionals at One of a Kind Interior Design to get your project completed efficiently, within budget, and in a timely manner.
…But First, A Bit About Who We Are
From Cookie Cutter to Like No Other Journey
The Interview:
After you fill out my Prospective Client Form you will be put on my schedule for our initial Interview call. During this 15-minute call, we will both be able to do a vibe check to see how well we will work together. Bonus points if you love karaoke as much as I do! My personal favorite song to perform is “Fergalicious” (but I change it to “Yazylicious” because I am)!
The Consultation:
Following our Interview call, I will send you a Consultation Questionnaire to be filled out prior to our in-home consultation. This step is crucial so that we can make the most of our 90 minutes together when I arrive at your home. Time is money after all! During the Consultation, I will also take measurements, generate some preliminary ideas with you, and clarify the scope of work for your home’s interior design. We will also go over the contract and any questions you might have about the process.
Site Study & Trade Day:
This step kick starts your whole project, so it’s one of the most exciting days! All required trades will show up to your home on this day to review the scope of work, troubleshoot ideas (let’s make sure the dream matches reality), take necessary photographs, and get detailed measurements of the relevant space.
Concept & Budget Review:
About 2-3 weeks after Trade Day, we will have a virtual meeting to go over all of the estimates submitted by the contractors, preliminary timeline & budget, and the interior design concept (proposed colors, textures, etc.)! Your feedback is welcome during this review meeting because I want to make sure you fall absolutely in love with your new space. During this meeting, you will also approve the final budget so we can get started!
Design Presentation:
Another exciting step in the process is the Design Presentation Day! This will be an in-person meeting where I go over all of the 3-D drawings I’ve put together based on our previous discussions and questionnaires. I will also bring product samples with me so you can feel the textures and see the colors in-person. This is where you will start to feel how One of a Kind Interior Designs takes you from cookie cutter to like no other!
Design Management:
This is the phase when you will be the most thankful you hired me to be your designer. Once the contractors start coming in and take over your home, you need someone to manage the madness. I shop, track progress, oversee all deliveries & installs, and manage the overall project and trades. This ensures you receive the quality you expect, the timelines you depend on, and the budget you agreed to.
Final Clean-Up:
Before your Big Reveal, I make sure that your space is live-in ready by bringing in professional cleaning and HVAC duct cleaning companies so it’s like your home never experienced a facelift. I also do a final punchlist walk-through with each contractor before you submit final payment to them to make sure that everything has been done to satisfaction.
The Big Reveal:
The day you have been waiting for — all trades are complete and I have the pleasure of doing a walk-through tour with you to show your new one-of-a-kind space. All furnishings and accessories have already been installed, so you are able to move right in! There is no need to unpack anything, put up a picture, or clean! (Disclaimer: You will have to clean at some point. I’m your interior designer, not your permanent housekeeper. Although, I could connect you to some great teams to keep your space looking immaculate!)
Peace of Mind (and Organization):
Throw yourself a big party with all of your friends so you can show off your new space once I present you with a binder of every document you will ever need in case of emergency. You have never been so organized! In this binder, you will find:
- Care Instructions for Appliances and All New Finishes
- Warranty Details
- Contact Information for All Contractors Used
- My Card for Whenever You Are Ready for Your Next Project!
